Free Christmas Crafts for You
Posted by Ursula Kartashov under Christmas Ideas
Christmas is one of those times of the year when we give in to a
wild consumerism. We are tempted to buy many things from sweets,
gifts to offer to family and friends to the most common
decorations, for the simple reason that we find them nice and we
want to have them there, to cheer up our Winter Holidays Season.
After the Winter Holidays are gone and we stop for making an
assessment of the budget spent we constantly face a disturbing
truth: many of the expenditures we have made do not justify, as
we did not even need the things we bought or we could have
obtained them in other ways. One of the easiest ways to have
many of the things we need for Christmas is crafting them. There
are many free Christmas crafts that we can embrace and that lead
us to create stuff as good looking and even of higher quality
than what we find in the stores. Most of the crafting activities
we can perform during this time of the year can be based on
wastes we have around, in the house, basic materials we use on
other main purposes or even materials that we can find around
our house and take for free, as they are offered by nature.
Here are some ideas of free Christmas crafts that you can
dedicate time to in order to create cards, gifts for family and
friends and especially the desired decorations for your tree and
home:
* One of the most popular Christmas crafts is card making, as
there is also a high demand on the outcomes - the cards.
Everyone wants to send his wishes to the persons he loves and
chooses the cards as mean of communication. With a piece of
cardboard, some scissors and glue, plus a few other accessories,
depending on the pattern you want to create, a card is ready to
be sent in a few minutes.
* For creating original decorations
for your home and tree, there are several free Christmas crafts
you can embrace. For example, take a walk in the closest forest,
pick some tree cones, faded leaves, acorns and sprig trees and
use these gifts of nature to create wonderful Christmas
arrangements to embellish your home or even offer as gifts. Take
a candle and around it glue a circle made of pine cones. Or use
more cones to create a basket and fill it with goodies. Make a
wreath of tree sprigs and decorate it with ribbon, bells, some
glittering powder and even squeeze between the sprigs Christmas
candies. For creating a wreath of great effect, cut pieces of
scraps of fabrics of various textures and colors. Stitch them in
the center and thread them on a wire. It will look amazing,
hanged on your door or window.
* One of the most exciting free
Christmas crafts you can loose yourself into is creating a
little wood house buried in snow. For this, you will need a plan
of the house that you can sketch yourself or download from the
web, some wood twigs and craft glue. After putting together the
house, introduce some lights inside and then cover it with
"snow" represented by cotton. Display this wonderful decoration
at your window and all the people passing-by might stop for a
moment to admire it.
As you can see, there are many free Christmas crafts you can
pursue for having a wonderful time and creating something truly
unique this time of the year. You just have to use your
imagination to come up with great ideas and your skillfulness to
turn them into reality.
